IceMen Insights Podcast #410:
100% Unscripted

Next Episode Airs Wed. Feb. 17
(Podcast Online Thu. Feb. 18)

PLEASE NOTE: This episode was recorded a few hours before it was announced that the IceMen are officially moving to Owensboro next season. Although the context is now just a tad different, we feel that the vast majority of our conversation is still relevant. Please just keep the timing in mind as you listen. Thanks!

After a lengthy break, “IceMen Insights” is back! And for the first time ever, the show is 100% unscripted…

Derick and I discuss the recent struggles of the IceMen after a strong December, the additions of Danny Hobbs and Mike Duco, and…well, then it’s pretty much all about the elephant in the room.

How viable is Owensboro and the Sportscenter plan? What went wrong with the City of Evansville in the Ford Center lease negotiations? Where do emotions belong in what is fundamentally a business and political issue? If the ECHL is no longer an option, can Evansville succeed with an SPHL team? And ultimately, at any level, how vital is winning hockey games with respect to financial viability and marketability?

Plus: IceMey Iggy drama, The Evansville Snow Equivalency Scale, Long Duk Dong, Derick’s adventures in exotic locales like Iowa and Arkansas, and Shocker breaks out the Fic impression again!
