IceMen Insights Podcast #208:
“Insights” Debuts on “IceMen Live”

Next LIVE Broadcast: TBD

(Note: For reasons I will not disclose, “IceMen Insights” will be taking at least the next few weeks off. Until the show returns, I will continue to post regular blog updates here on The site is currently generating more traffic than ever before, so thank you for your support!)

At the start of the week, the IceMen were leading the North Division and hadn’t lost in regulation at home in more than 2 months. And for the first time in what seems like even longer than that, “IceMen Insights” returned – but as part of “IceMen Live” on Monday night. If you missed the live broadcast on WEOA, our FREE podcast will help you get up to speed! In this week’s “IceMen Insights” episode…

Derick and I discuss the IceMen finally beating Greenville, moving up in the standings and “pushing down 9th,” Peter Sakaris dropping the gloves, Mike Clemente being in the zone, IceMen among the league leaders, Dylan Clarke’s rehab progress, Tom Zanoski’s departure, and the Allen York trade.

This week’s topics also include big crowds and the team’s performance in front of them, opposing players loving the Ford Center, the San Francisco Bulls ceasing operations immediately, our regular Injury & Transaction Report, another Skate Down Memory Lane, our weekly update on The Birds and The BJs, and a look ahead at upcoming IceMen games.

In addition, we debut a new segment called “Hockey 101,” aimed at helping fans understand the nuances and idiosyncracies of hockey. We tackle the plus/minus stat that confuses many new fans, and discuss the term “half board” that fans often hear on TV and radio broadcasts.

Plus: Derick’s wife throws him under the bus, Derick then throws himself under the bus, Shocker dons a fedora, “Krug the Thug,” a funny story about Chad “Beefcake” Burleigh, saving new players from Brian Patafie, Kiss and beach volleyball, an IceMen fan hilariously heckles Komets forward Kaleigh Schrock on Twitter, Veggie Tales, and podcast-exclusive commercial break filler – including a classic “Real Men of Genius” spoof!
