to serve as’s ECHL Affiliate

Last week, the IceMen announced their affiliation with the NHL’s St. Louis Blues. Now, has a similar announcement to make!

I’m excited to share that we’ve joined forces with the fine folks over at, SB Nation’s Blues blog. GameTime is the #1 Blues blog on the web, averaging well over 50,000 unique visitors per month during hockey season. This past April during the playoffs, over 105,000 puckheads visited GT!

And now, some of those eyeballs will be taking a peek at as well. Effective immediately, we’ll be providing GT with periodic updates about the IceMen and, in particular, the Blues’ prospects playing in Evansville.

On a personal level, I must admit that I’m downright thrilled about this arrangement. Why? Allow me to explain…

I went to my first Blues home game over a decade ago with a friend and fellow Blues fan from Evansville, who is now a teacher in St. Louis. She urged me to buy a copy of Game Night Revue, a 20+ page fan-made newspaper (with everything from game analysis to “fight cards” to referee stats and more) that was sold outside the arena at every Blues game. So I bought one, and I loved it.

After the 2004-05 NHL lockout, GNR’s creator stepped aside and much of the rest of the paper’s volunteer “staff” kept the operation going as St. Louis Game Time. The paper is still sold at every Blues home game to this day. I’ve been to at least a couple dozen games since I bought my first edition of GNR, and whether GNR or GT, I have made sure to pick up a fresh copy every time I’ve been there – and I’ve never been disappointed.

For several years now, the printed GT paper has been accompanied online by It started as an independent blog and is now the official Blues blog as part of the enormous SB Nation blog network.

For those who’ve never visited GameTime before, it’s not your average hockey blog. While informative, it’s also sarcastic and snarky with a fair amount of salty language. So what I’m saying is, most of our readers will probably love it.

And I love the fact that I now have the honor of providing content for them. I try not to talk about “me” much on, but this time I have to make an exception because, well, I’m really friggin’ happy about this.

So please indulge me, and take a look at my debut…
